Asus Zenfone 2 – This is the ‘ Next ‘

Asus is on quite a roll these days with consecutive hits in the mobile phone market. Despite having some of the best performance laptops in the market, the company adapted very well to the changing tide and struck the smartphone market, all guns blazing. So far , Asus was doing extremely well in the low end and mid range markets, giving their customers more than what they paid for. Though the competition from the Chinese players was tough, the Zenfones stuck on and thats the reason they are selling like hot cakes even today. Probably the only thing they were really missing in their lineup,was a knockout flagship device, something that would strike fear in even the biggest players in the market. Probably that’s why Asus took their time, and they are now ready to take the flagship market with their best device yet. Say Hello to the Asus Zenfone 2. 

Like most of the flagships these days, the Zenfone 2 also comes in a few different flavors, to cater to all budgets. Howver, the one that is the Alpha Male is the Flagship variant of the Zenfone 2 device.

When we say flagship, we need the phone to be an absolute monster, and that is exactly what the Zenfone 2 is designed to be. People however , believe in proof these days , so let me give you a quick peek at what the Zenfone 2 is all about –

• Design – Asus has been rocking the crowd with their absolutely stunning and ergonomic arc  design. The overall matt finish on the back and the brushed metal strip on the bottom of the device only adds to the brilliant overall feel of the device. The market these days runs on Beautifully powerful phones and the Zenfone 2 is just that. The overall phone measures 152.5 x 77.2 x 10.9 mm , and weighs just around 170 g.If this isn’t a pleasure to hold in the hand device, I don’t know what is.

• Display –  The Zenfone 2 comes with a brilliant 5.5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, with the Full HD resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels. To add to that, you also get the truly stunning Gorilla Glass 3 protection with the Asus standard anti fingerprint coating. On a more technical note, the body to screen ratio is an amazing 70.1% , which means you are in for some real slim bezels and a mouth watering display experience.

• Performance – The device will boot Android 5.0 Lollipop out of box, which is a welcome sight for those who are still waiting for the update on their old devices. The device also feature the Zen UI which is one of the best new UIs in the market today.Lets move on to the internals of the device. Asus has been a long standing customer of the Intel Atom Chipset, and Intel in response has made sure that the new Z3580 chipset is an absolute beast. What we have is a 2.3 GHz Quad core processor with the more than capable PowerVR G6430 GPU to handle your gaming needs. But this is only scratching the surface. The major selling point of this device is its absolutely unreal 4GB of RAM. With this in its Arsenal, the Zenfone 2 will indeed go on to become the King of multitasking.

• Memory – Asus has made sure you don’t look elsewhere to satiate your memory needs either. The Zenfone 2 comes loaded with 16/32/64 GB flavors, with each of them supporting Sd card memory expansion upto 64 GB, which is more than sufficient to take care of your memory needs. If you still need more space, you can explore the cloud storage options as well.

• Camera – The camera is not too extravagant, but at the same time, its probably one of the finest around. The Zenfone 2 comes loaded with a 13 MP rear camera sensore, and a 5 MP front snapper for those awesome selfies.  The rear camera features Autofocus, Dual LED flash and HDR among other features. You can also record Full 1080p videos at 30 fps with this device as well. Here again, Asus has added its own bit of magic buy equipping the Zenfone 2 with their proprietary Pixel master feature which absolutely amplifies your low light photography sessions and gives you incredible results.

• Battery – Probably the most important part of your phone is its battery. The Zenfone 2 is powered by a non removable 3000 mAh which also features the new Quickcharge feature. The Quickcharge feature charges your device to 60% in 30 minutes which is very handy for people who travel a lot, and don’t have the time to wait for the phone to get to 100 %.

All in all, I would say that the Zenfone 2 is going to set the benchmark as the smarpthone to beat this year, and the only favour you can do to yourself is to go ahead and get yourself one of these devices when it hits the market.
